I’ve been working the last couple of days making more jam for this Saturday’s open house. Today I made strawberry rhubarb jam, apricot raspberry syrup, blackberry chipotle jam, blackberry rhubarb jam, cranberry raspberry jam and apple pie jam.
I love making jam (you might already know that!). It can be hazardous though. Today I managed to burn myself 3 times! Two were little burns from spattering jam (cranberry raspberry jam is notorious for that) and a pretty large steam burn. I process my jams in a boiling water bath and burned my arm checking on the jars. I didn’t see the large blister until this evening! Yikes! I guess the moral there is to be more careful and use potholders!
